Destination: Gulfport, Mississippi

Roadtrip Reflections:

Meet the roadtrip crew: Seth, Beth Ann, Christina, me, and Greg

We're official now as this is our second roadtrip.

I'd like to share a few things we learned this time around...

1. Always be prepared (see number 7)
2. Don't throw ice from one car to the other if you're going 70mph...it's going to end up in your lap
3. If your waitress is cajun and brings you the wrong salad dressing be prepared to learn new words. Don't laugh, or be shocked...neutral is best
4. Don't EVER under any circumstances leave any sort of food with the word creole in the title in your car for long periods of time. It smells like death
5. When watching Cruising the Coast (that's where people line up for miles along the beach strip & watch as old cars cruise up and down) BEWARE of drunk rednecks, women with cigars, and old men in wheel chairs
6. If you go to the beach after 10:00PM be prepared to do two things: freeze and bond. It requires lots of blankets, and spooning rotations (Idaho anyone?)
7. In the event of unplanned overnight stays roughing it is made possible by purchasing deodorant, underwears, & toothbrushes at Wal Mart (we slept at Greg's house)
8. Always check the handle before pouring coffee. If it's broken and they forgot to warn you then you're toast
9. Detours to Braxton, D'Lo, and Florence are an absolute must (if you can find them, they aren't on the map)
10. Keep the bass in the freezer until you're ready to mount them
11. Love God first, Mama second, and your pick up truck third
12. There is never a wrong time for country music and sweet tea. There is a wrong time for seat warmers and potty breaks.

Thanks Mississippi for the best weekend ever.
